- Found Objects
- White cloth resembles life, it is used in birth. work, women, femininity, death. They are also used in shamanic rituals.
Installation ideas - using this invisible frame to create this wall less room to enclose the audience whilst watching the moving image. Felt enclosed and intimate, the context of the video was women being able to finally speak up on their sexual experiences with soldiers from the war which was kept from the public by the government.
Archival and found objects related to my practice as I also collect old images and negatives. how she installed them in the exhibition made me think how I could collect them and arrange them in more thoughtful placement

Manchester Museum Visit
The Lee Kai Hung Chinese Culture Gallery is the first gallery devoted to Chinese culture in the history of Manchester Museum. The gallery promotes the understanding between the people of the UK and China. When reading, the gallery focuses on individual stories of those who grew up and moved to the UK. There was discussion understanding Chinese culture when it comes to medical use which in comparison to the UK would be seen different. Visiting this gallery was teaching me about the historical side, as being born in a wester country there tends to be a lot of information that gets lost when growing up. The gallery presents us with archives and collections of fine porcelains, carved jade, textiles, ancient bronzes and historical artefacts. Common themes with archival , experience, memories, historical and culture

Artist Talks & Dork Bot
Throughout the year I attended Artist talks - It gave great insight how to talk and how to present your own work. Allowed me to vision life after university as well.

Dork Bot #5
After attending dork bot #4 I returned for their #5. It was very different this time as this one focused of more digital art based work rather than using sound although there was a couple. I took from this different software's which where being used for Virtual Reality and engaging with new people. One artist coded a robot using a plotter device. He explained how he used machines for more as a collaboration with the tool and enjoys the process of making and how it gets to a digital vector to a painted piece.
Alex Russel
He described himself as a print maker. He intersects science and electronic engineering within his work.
He uses the chaos theory to generate his work. He sees himself as a printmaker and when he generates new codes for his pattern work they always create new ones every time. The're always different there is never a replicate. He said he uses materials which are fragile then inputs them into code and preserves them in a digital copy
Filmic Timing
- Filmic timing is the temporal ordering and arrangement of events within the world of a film as against the flow of time in the real world
- In relation to my work the essence of filmic timing is shown especially in the tv slide scene where the tv is playing a cartoon at normal speed, but the outside is time lapsed to give the illusion of difference times and a distortion to the narrative.

"The reason why I use sound is because it defines space and triggers memory. My intent is to adopt its psychological effect to make people aware of the place they’re in.” — Susan Philipsz
